Williams Landing Railway Station

Williams Landing is a railway station on the Werribee railway line in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia The station is located adjacent to the Palmers Road overpass of the Princes Freeway, in the newly created suburb Williams Landing. Construction required the slewing of the existing southern track to make room for the new platform.

The station includes:

  • Premium station status, with a staffed presence from first to last train, seven days a week
  • A new bus terminal
  • A 500 space car park, a kiss-and-ride zone and a taxi rank
  • An island platform between the existing passenger rail lines
  • Pedestrian and bicycle access points
  • A Pedestrian Bridge across the Princes Fwy to Wallace Avenue, Point Cook

The State Government announced the station in the Victorian Transport Plan in 2008. Construction was originally intended to commence during 2010, but eventually started in September 2011. The railway station was completed in 2013, with initial services from 28 April 2013.

Cost

The cost of the station in 2011 dollars is A$86 million and the access road A$24 million. The cost has been criticised for being too high by the Public Transport Users Association of Victoria.
